hello world....Iam 40 yr young married women. We reside in Co., but are looking to relocate, to a warm dry sunny US state. NO snow & little humidity!
Let us know where these elements are/and not.
I was born w/ mod-severe sense-something loss(too early to think of medical term). I've struggled thru school & life. I believe every HOH, should be taught ASL, as well as lip reading & speaking. Hearing people expect that I speak normal, that I hear everything at all times. Or that these aids are bionic. Everyone's voice is diff tones. Employer's & co-workers get impaitent w/ me.
So am looking for the quiet office job/I need training. Always been in F.Food, which is too noisy for people w/ hearing aids....they pick up background noise.
As disabled, don't I get a discount on college? IRS still trying to get $$$$, when I feel I dropped out for good cause! Love to hear from any of ya

I'am HOH too, close to your age and getting younger if I did yoga. I just got some whey protein and you NEED to exercise taking that stuff....

I went to college twice, first in Business Mgmt from 94 and couldn't get a job with no experience, then in 96 got fed up with not working and just to a vocational school and got an honours in Medical/Dental Adm. Assistance, only to learn afterwards that people in Toronto get scared when you tell them your HOH. And they still do!

But I found out from one college that doesn't accept OSAP funding from the gov't, that when the students default on their loans the school is responsible to pay 75% of the cost of the tuitions. I'am still not sure if that's true, but this is why the Transformational Arts College decided not to allow OSAP funding for their school, and this is from the executive of this school who tells me this!

And another thing I never knew when I was in post-secondary school is that your entitled to $10,000 as someone with a disability to cover hearing aids you need, the cost for a notetaker and/or interpreter, a counseller will tell you about this, and I'am postive they have something similar in the US, they must!

Also if you get on assistance for people with disabilites, your still get gov't funding to go to school and then if you can't get a job after you graduate your student loan will automatically be forgiven, excpet just don't give them a doctor's note saying that you are able to such and such.....
(something I've picked up from the Internet), and you'd need to be on the assitance offered for people with disabilites, but trust me if you get on this you will be worse off, and never move into social housing - those places make you deathly ill, the funding is usually too by the gov't.
