I think it's something that should not be abused. I don't mind a small hickey, but not in an obvious place where it is unprofessional. Imagine me going to work with a red spot on my neck. For sure, everyone would be giving me weird looks as if something was wrong with me like a disease or something.
However, what's the real purpose of a hickey? What does it prove? You don't need a hickey to prove that you're hot or popular. If you did, then go back to high school.
