I don't like doing introductions. I have been a drifter on here for a year or so, but never got an account. I finally decided to sign up so I can start participating.

I'm from California, but live/work in NY. I was born deaf and wear a CI. I think that's it for now! :naughty:

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. Here is hoping that you have fun reading and posting all the threads here. See you around here.

If you think we're bad when we go to New York, you should see us in the Midwest. I don't think a week has passed by when I haven't lamented the fact to my friends that I can't get a decent burrito or fresh vegetables around here.

Maybe we should start a support group for transplanted Californians. :hmm:

BTW, welcome to AD. Where in California are you originally from? I grew up just north of San Francisco in the wine country.

I haven't complained yet about the weather or food! The only complaint I have is the humidity we get during the summertime. It's unbearable! I've been here for almost 2 years now.

I lived in NJ briefly, but moved over to Long Island to make commuting a bit easier on me.

I grew up in Saratoga, but moved to Grass Valley in my teens. Hopefully you'll know those areas.

oh wow you're in my backyard... kinda. I live in NJ right next to NYC and work in downtown.

We probably bumped into each other at local deaf events if you attend them regularly. I don't attend the ones in Hoboken though.

I work in Midtown.

Yep, I know both of those places.

I went to undergrad at Chico State and lived there for several years after I graduated, so that's relatively close to GV. My truck broke down there one time on my way to Lake Tahoe. Luckily it was minor and the towing garage was able to get me back on the road in twenty minutes, but it wouldn't have been so bad if it took longer. Nice little foothills town.

NOR CAL!

Nope, don't recognize you. :/

Let me see if I can find a pic to post... So you can tell me if you've seen me around or not.

I'm the one on right. Gonna delete the pic soon after you peek at it. Deleted

nope... but I like what I see! Now I'll know who to look for if there's DPHH or similar in NYC.

 I rarely go to DPHH in NYC, I regularly attend the ones on LI though. It's just a bit of a hassle going to the ones in NYC.
