Hi everyone, my name is Dawne. I found this site while researching cochlear implant info. I started losing my hearing at age 17 due to otosclerosis. I'm now 39 and have no hearing in my right and severe loss in my left. I had stapedectomies on both ears but that didn't work for long. So last week my surgeon said I am now a candidate for the implant and I have a CT and MRI scheduled for next week. Nice to find a forum of people like myself and it's nice to meet you all...

Yes, we are practically neighbors! I grew up in Willoughby, went to South many, many years ago.
