:) Good Afternoon everyone! I just thought I would stop and introduce myself to all of you. I am a divorced mother of 2 wonderfull girls. I am deaf, however, I have only been deaf for about 4 years now. I had been hard of hearing all of my life but due to illness I did finilly loss my hearing altogether. Both my daughters are hearing and dont sign I am trying my best to learn sign langugage although it is not easy for me to do. But we just do the best we can. I am currently going back to school becouse I could no longer continue in the field of work that I was doing and I am having a great time. This has been a learning experence for me. Well I guess that is enough about me for now talk later bye

Hello and welcome to Alldeaf tiredmom31! I admire the courage you have as you're trying the best you can, but don't ever give up hope! It'll take some time to learn ASL and eventually you'll look back to this day and chuckle about how it was. ;) Since you mentioned that you were HoH before losing your hearing altogether, are you able to lip-read at all? If so, that is indeed very helpful as well. I sure do wish you the very best, your daughters and school. Hope you'll enjoy your stay here in AD as well! :)

Hi yes I did learn to lip-read although I really wish that i would have listened to the doc. more and believed that this time would come. I think I could have been more prepared for it then. But that is way life works lol
