Hi. I'm a hearing person and just joined today. I stumbled across this site as I am just getting to know someone who is deaf, although I have known him for 2-3yrs, but never had the opportunity for a one2one conversation.
It's a very new experience for me and would just like some pointers, dos or don'ts etc...

Just be yourself, if they like you....you'll learn. Same as meeting a forienger, if they like you, they will teach you a few things along the way. Dont be fake.
