Hi everyone!
So as I wrote in my introduce yourself thread..I am the mommy of a deaf child and I am currently taking an ASL class in order to keep up with her! Claire has a CI and goes to TC school so she is picking up sign so quickly which is awesome but I can't keep up!! I have to do 5 minute signed autobiography for my class and I'm having trouble translating 1 of my sentences. The sentence is "When I was a little girl, my father was in show Grease on Broadway and every Wednesday and Sunday I would go to the afternoon show." Do I break the sentence up into smaller chunks or translate it as a whole? I'm trying to use the TLOSV structure but with so many words, I'm not sure where to start! Any advice would be greatly, greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

PAST (as in going back into the past in a timeline) GROWING (stop halfway up your torso to indicate that you were a little girl)

FATHER INDEX (refer to him) ACTOR

INDEX (referring to him) DRAMA QUOTE G-R-E-A-S-E QUOTE FINISH

WEDNESDAY SUNDAY AFTERNOON EVERY-WEEK DRAMA INDEX (refer to self) WENT

There's a few classifiers I would use in here, but not sure how to gloss it.

Crude, I know, but I don't claim to be the best at glossing all of this.

Edit: Revising a bit here... Kinda went from French to English to ASL.... and my brain is throwing a fist

Thank you so much..that really helps! The classifiers I'm pretty good with..I've been learning sign on my own for 2 years now (from my daughter's teachers and speech therapists) so I do know a good deal but my daughter's school uses ESL so the syntax of ASL is still new to me...thanks again!!:ty:
