Heylo.
I'm not deaf, but probably will be eventually. I've got NIHL and chronic tinnitus. I was stupid all my life so I'd listen to incredibly loud music ever since about 6 or 8 years old. I listened to loud music all the time. Yes, even when I was sleeping I left it on. I'd wake up and find my walkman/ipod/mp3 still playing. I'd listen to it eating, brushing my teeth, even playing video games. I always had it on everywhere I went in public. In the shower, I'd put the C.D. player/attach ipod/mp3 to speakers. My brother was the only one who told me my ears will get damaged but since I was stupid, I would say something like, "If it's part of my fate set by God that I'll lose my hearing, then I'll lose my hearing whether or not I max out my ear phones to the point where it hurts." I probably have no business coming here. I just feel like no one understands what it's like. Most people mock me and make jokes about it. It's opened me up to the deaf community though and I'd like to learn sign language soon.
