Hey some of you are probably wondering what's new with me or how my ci progress is going. Well its going very slow, slug pace. But I finally got replied from my audiologist I sent her bunch email throughout entire 2 months period she either respond it without answer I seek for, or ask me for date if I'm fine with that then next response said sorry that date is already taken ugh! Even if it only been like 2 minutes waiting time for me to answered her yes then she tell me sorry that date is already taken after SHE asked me if that date is ok?! Sheesh or don't respond for long time like once she didn't reply any of my email for 1 month her excuse "I was in conference "meeting" and forgot to turn on auto response email" I was thinking "in meeting for entire month? Please save it" she's totally unreliable and ridilicious if she does ONE more thing that's totally unprofessional I'm going to file a complaint on her.

Well, in all drama I finally got date for that friggin hearing test on best aided condition its on november 13th at 2 pm, a day after my bday lol. After that if she didn't screw anything up or being dumb or whatever I SHOULD get my 100% confirmation or a 2 thumb-ups for being totally a ci candidate and get surgery. Then after surgery and hook-up all I can do is hope my insurance pay whole thing as they promised they would. (Or at least pay most of them and leave me with small amount to pay out of pocket I'll be fine with that we'll see what happen with insurance) that's all is up with my ci candidate progress so far in 2 months.
Oh also my surgeon ordered my ci and implant I got regular bte in all pink and mini bte in half pink and half I get 12 different color to put on to match my outfit :) and I will get freedom implant :-D I can't wait to get hooked up and hear sound for first time in 3 years and rejoin in hearing world and hopefully makes some friends :) (don't have any friends) and boost my confidence to go out more often and to speak (I haven't used my voice for literally over a year now because I'm extremely insecure with way I sound and mispronounce words) I'm sure I'll have to relearn speech all over again but that's ok, and can't wait to hear people talking and laughter and so many sounds I missed hearing :)

congrats and good luck and never leave us alone after having a CI ,okay

Congrats and best of luck on your journey. :)

Good luck with the qualifying hearing test on November 13th. It sounds like you really want the CI.

Your audiologist doesn't sound very attentive though. I wouldn't be very happy with unanswered e-mails. I think that having a good relationship especially after the CI is implanted is very important. She needs to be able to listen to you during the activation and mapping process so that she can meet your needs.

Hey, I wish you well with your test on Nov. 13. I'll get my mapping doneon Nov. 14 BTW.

Yes I do really want it. I know she's not attentive, but she's only one my surgeon work with and there's only 2 office in delaware work with ci 2 diffeent surgeon and 2 different ci audiologist so I'm stuck with one but her office is only 5 minute from my house so I don't have much choice really

That is great news!! I'll be looking for an update on the 14th providing the audiologist does not mess things up for you!

I have my fingers crossed lady!

Lol thank you, I read your ci moment that u heard what ur mom said behind ur back that's great cuz at the beginning you have no idea what she said with hand cover mouth. Makes me wonder what audiobooks you been using? Cuz it seem to help a lot with understanding speech by just listening without lipreading

Also one question for everyone.
Have you ever went snowboarding wearing ci under beanie with ear flap to protect it or you take it off? Cuz I want to wear ci in all activity as possible to hear the fun sound but if its too risky then it'll help to know :)

Whoops accident post twice lol don't know how to delete it so I deleted all text and put in "whoops" lol

Thank you!! I can share the audio books I have read so far.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone
Winnie the Pooh
The Namesake

and I am about to get a jump start on the Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, i'm in a holiday spirit already :)

In addition to the audio books, I use a lot of online sites as well. I still can't fare all that wonderfully in noise or in the car. I can at least tell when someone is talking in the back seat as oppose just ignoring them.
