I'm Donna, I'm trying to find someone to help teach me as and all about deaf culture. Please responded and feel free to messag me:)

I'd connect with your local Deaf Community Centre and see what programs they have available as well as if they have a lending library for various Deaf Culture videos/DVD and books etc.

I'd also make sure to read as much as you possibly can on Deaf Culture and the Deaf Community.

Keep in mind that Deaf Culture is a living Culture, so attitudes change over time. The biggest shift is how the Deaf World of today views CI compared to even 10 years ago ... a lot of books will reflect the older Deaf World view towards CI, which WAS valid for that time because the technology was significantly different than today and the outcomes of those who got CIs back then were VERY VERY different.

We have an AD "sticky" with a number of books listed, however here are some common books to start with are:

Journey into the DEAF WORLD
Everyone here spoke sign language
TRAIN GO, SORRY
Seeing Voices
Deaf in America, voices from a Culture
Learning to See
Talking Hands
When the Mind Hears
