As you see a long list of topics, here is another one coming in. To introduce myself, I was diagnosed profoundly deaf when I was very young. Actually, my parents don't know whether I was born deaf due to lack of advanced medicine in my home country, which is Vietnam. So, we moved to US in order for me to receive the diagnosis. Obviously, it resulted in a series of tragic events that eventually led to cochlear implant surgery. I do find it a blessing because it has given me the appreciation of music. However, I've passed a critical period of time where the kids are supposed to utilize powerful tools of speech and language. So, learning to use the voice fluently would pose a great difficulty, if not impossible, for me. In the end, sign language became my primary language!
Asides a bit of history there, I am currently 18 years old attending the first year in a state university in Illinois. I should have realized a lot earlier that such a thing like this website exists because I could totally use the moral support. I've been under a lot of stress finishing stuff on time. It's driving me nuts, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. I actually do enjoy the kind of stress where I can see my academic skills improving as a result of that. I guess that's all I want to say, see you in other topics sometimes.
