I'm a fan of this board and I visit every so often. I'm hearing but I am intrigued by sign language and the deaf community.

Just saying Hello!!!

Hi.. Welcome to AD.. I hope you will enjoy the stay with us and happy posting away! :)

Just out of curiosity, you must be directly associated with the website mostdeaf dot com. If so, and I looked at the domain registration info, what is the origin of the site name? If you don't mind me asking. :ty: Dave

Hi, My name is Lindy, and I'm very hearing-impaired myself. Most of my friends are hearing only because there's not many deaf people near by where I live. That's why I've joined this group, I hope to meet many deaf people along with hearing individuals. The world is a better place when everyone feels included-don't you agree? Let me know. Lindy

Hi.. Welcome to AD.. I hope you will enjoy the stay with us and happy posting away! :)

Thank you for your warm welcome. This is the first deaf group community I've had the pleasure to enjoy. I'm very hearing-impaired myself, and would enjoy a deaf or hearing person to communicate with via this internet. Tell me about yourself.

Greetings

I'm in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas

We have two seasons - Spring and Summer.
We're right on the US/Mexico border. County population about 750,000
about 90% latino
We get about 60,000 Winter Texans (Snow Bords) that migrate here each winter from as far away as Canada.

I'm not Deaf, but a student in college working on becoming a teacher and I encountered Deaf students that were (unknown then) signing "block head" and "stupid" because I didn't understand them. Later I learned that there is a severe lack of Deaf teachers and many have said it's too time consuming. This fueld a desire to learn ASL so in two years when I graduate I can also take the level 1 state interpreters exam and pass it.

Am new here too..

I am deaf myself.. I don't get to meet a lot of people as I am always working and taking care of my two teenager daughters.. I live so close to the CSD-Fremont, California... I am also into Canadian Diamond Trader to make extra money.. I am doing this because it's time for me to meet people and see what they have been thru in life. I love to listen and learn!!
