Everytime I peek into a thread of whoever may be creating it, I see members still insulting a particular member here that they dislike? why is that? and when will this ever end? would someone please care to explain this to me?...

Angel ..there is one thing I love about you is your ability to be gentle and patient with everyone, regardless of who he/she is.

My problem is that I have very little patience/tolerance for people who keeps provoking my values/beliefs just for the sake of it. I dont go around insulting Bush or whatnot unless pushed to it. I am passionate and like to speak up if someone dares to insult me such as calling Democratic Party DNC ..Democractic National Corruption. I find it NOT funny and I speak up. It does not mean anything about how I feel about that particular person but the issues here. I came to AD to have intelligent, thought provoking conversations, not to listen to a person or two who whines forever about their OWN problems.

Bottom line ..I simply don't have your angelic patience, Angel.

Edit: I realized that I start to sound like that whining member so I edited my post out.

Because he’s annoying—pure and simple. But that’s all the input that I really have to offer on the subject. Like Cheri, I think that Meg pretty much covered all the bases.
 
But why bring that persons name up if he isn't involved in that thread? I know that person has become unpopular (and done it to themselves) but if everyone complains that he is destroying good threads, why mention his name at all.

Its like:
Mike:"Hey...I drove to the store today".
Ted:"Did you run ............ over on the way there?"

Johnny:" Hey, I met a new chick and I'm flying to meet her in person."
Steve:"Hey, take .......... along so you can throw him out of the plane"

If he is such a polution to threads, why even mention his name in threads he never posted in to begin with?
 
I think I know how and what ^Angel^'s is trying to point out here and it does seem like Taylor has pointed it out somewhat--of course Meg, she does indeed have much patience...and like you've put it: angelic feelings and patience! ;)

Anyhow, back to the concept of what she is indicating here and as to what I'm also likewise seeing here...for instance, a certain poster, however a post/thread is done, there seems to be other posters bursting in with insults that surely is uncalled for and ALSO against the rules set herein...the insults generally directed AT the person and not always directed for a specific poster's views/opinions....

Of course, there will be times when members disliking another member for whatever reasons, but that don't justify the rights to publicly make certain insults (again, insulting as I've explained in the above paragraph)...and these types of posts that are either intentionally or unintentionally done so in such a matter that is, sorry to say, a bit immature-like, yet, it does call to the attention of getting 'warnings'...'banned'...whatever it takes to quell this latest round of 'drama' or whatever you want to call it....

Now as for most of you know for a fact that I'm with ^Angel^, I honestly CAN see where she is coming from on this AND see where others are coming from likewise...the bottom line: As a moderator here...(and as a 'peacemaker'), it's TIME to put aside whatever negative personal feelings anyone may have toward another member...how? Simply ignore such posts and do not reply to it either...yes, easy said then done...BUT, can't we at least give it a 'rest', putting aside directional insults...and discuss rationally while bestowing common courtesy despite indifferences from others???

Well, can we do that?

I didn't say anything about not allowing others to speak up...it's more of HOW it is being done...approaching certain posts/threads by directing unnecessary comments TO the person/poster...<<that's not even allowed either. Also...a point to be taken>> "...retarded comments..." Tell me, does that mean this is a direct insult of the poster's character or is it....ummmm...nah, I didn't think so!

How about this? Why not go to a member's profile and you see ignored button press that, You wouldn't have a problem reading his/her posts or threads. That way we don't take the blame.


I am doing that, because I am tired of getting blame for my comment when it is ok for them to call others "Fools" or Racist comments.
 
Ok....I see your point...but for those who have directly insult or made rude remarks/comments broke the rules also...were any of them warned or banned? I didn't think so....

I'm NOT trying to make this issue such a controversial one, even though it may be to several members here in AD...but like I have mentioned earlier...wouldn't it be just as easy to ignore the posts/threads and lurk in the other ones that intrigues you....that's my point and what I'm trying to get across so we can all get along despite the indifferences of opinions, etc. ;)

i tried ti help others but sometime they seems dont listen etc, so is that a insult . i was wondering.

That is totally different Roadrunner, Because at first we were very kind and helpful and it kept going on and on, whine about the same thing over and over, Blamed God about every problem, blamed others for their problem also. There a line where you can go across,and there a line that you cannot go across and sometimes it gets on our nerves, and our reponds might be rude or uncall for, But, you have to look at what started all this, for what reason, Then you'll know where it all came from the person who started it. Understand what I am saying? That is all I wanted to say. ;)
 
i have made suggestion of simply ignore the certain members's comments if they offend or going offtopic but seem like no one likes my suggestions

what i was trying to say... any time someone make a negative post or offtopic.. it is not neccessary to discuss about THAT post only waht thread was orginally created to discuss about. there is absolutely no need for any of us to scoop to their level and insult them.. it tend to ruin the threads ... and most of us doesnt like it.

however i noticed more we complain about those specific posts.. more it will continue. so i agree with most of u... just ignore bad posts and focus on what thread was first created to talk about.
 
I see my choices... either ignore or lead the undesired topic in a more positive one. Like in the other thread, somebody was being an energy drain... I instead posted a positive website that s/he might be inspired to pick another direction with, then stop replying to that person afterwards. I've tried to help for the first couple posts but I could easily seeing it going nowhere fast.

In any case... dont make eye contact with a highly tempermental bear that's about to charge at you.... or is that a wolf? :mrgreen:

It is their problem if they dont like. They do have their own choice that they don't have to check their thread(s).

One key is --they can ignore them if they try to insult them. Also ignore them whenever they can.

I do not see many insults. They might use their sense of humors.

lately i have been losing interest in AD cuz i am so busy with my life.. that i just like to pop in here every now and then when i get a chance to see what is happening.. i see more insults, degrading or whatsoever..

ok.. here i goes... for my opinion....

I've noticed some of you still label person's name on AD public forum by insulting or making fun... I can understand they get on your nerves and something like that.. but.... why can't you at least try to ignore them or talk to them ON PM what you don't like. than labeling person's name on public forum??

I'm just saying this because we don't need more dramas going on and soon we will go to AD causus? do u want to have the dramas at AD causus? I don't think so....

why don't we try to ignore whatever we don't like or talk about it in PM if you find it offensive instead of labeling person's name on the forum?? I've also notice whenever u label someone name and the other people follows? come on... that's silly.. just let it go....

I've seen someone posted negative on my topic and i didn't complain. I simply ignored it and let her/him talk about it as they wish even though its annoying or distrubing.

But AGAIN.. that's my opinion.... I'm just giving suggestions ... I hope it will help out.... :fingersx:
