Hello everyone. I am new to this site. I have been searching around for a site to get info about hard of hearing and deafness for myself, husband and our 7 yr old son. I am not too sure how this site works. Kind of confusing. :giggle: Like I said I am here for my son. He just got an aid in his right ear today (an Oticon Hit) he has been aided in his left since he was 3. And his hearing has been declining so fast the docs arnt too sure whats going on. We have just started genetic testing last month and hope to maybe get some answers and maybe to know what his future may hold. Anyway..thanks for listening. Man I need to figure this page out LOL

WoW that was fast. I really didnt expect for anyone to reply anything. Is there a part of this site just for children or for parents??? I would like to find a site just for my son to be able to maybe chat with other hard of hearing or deaf children. Or a site for kids like my son to know that they arnt alone. We live in a small community and he is the one and only kids in his whole school that is deaf and I think only one of about 5 in our school district. So I dont want him to feel alone or anything. And he is super active in sports. So we are now trying to figure out how to work that. Any ideas would be awesome. He does football and wrestling!!!

:welcome:

I think everyone is willing to chat to him, friendly people here :)

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. Would you mind telling me how old is your son? Is he in his teen or younger than teen which you mention that he is in sports? If he is a teenager, then this is the place because we have Deaf teenagers here who want to be involve in discussing and asking us about deafness, Deaf Culture, Deaf education and sign language like ASL. I hope you have fun reading and posting all the threads here. See you around.

We don't have any spots for children of seven, and our teenagers just join in with the rest of us for games and discussions.

 Oh, I am sooo embarrassed not reading the OP's post saying that she has a 7 years old son. He was involve in wrestling and football. I have never seen a 7 years old kid playing that kinds of sports only in middle high school or Senior high school. Wow, that is amazing! I have to learn to be careful when reading the post first before posting. :aw: I am bad. :naughty:

No you are good!! I don't even see the spots about wrestling and football.

The age stuck out to me because the used a number sign 7 instead of the word.
