Help me PLease, Audiology student in need of help

Before CI - all my life

My parents suspected it before I did

Parents made me wear it all day, and now, it feel naked without it.

feedbacks and not everything is clear to me, but of course I am profoundly deaf so this is expected.

Not always... but then again, I never really cared that much because I grown up with it.

audiologist. A hearing aid dealer wouldn't know how to deal with my type of hearing aids.

I was born with it.

16 hours.

With luck I will certainly hear a car before it hits me if I am thinking about it.
5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids?

Use batteries fast.

Yes

Since parent found out I am deaf which was around 3 or 4 years old.

2. For how long before you got your hearing aids did you suspect you had a
hearing loss?

Parents suspected for a year or so.

3. How long do you wear your hearing aids each day?

All day most of the time depending on mood.

4. Do you feel like you get benefit from your hearing aids?

Yes.

5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids?

Cost too much to buy.

6. Do you feel like your hearing aids have lived up to what your audiologist or
hearing aid dealer told you they would do?

Yea.

7. Did you get your hearing aids from an audiologist or a hearing aid dealer?

Audiologist.

Here's my answers:

I had one in my right ear only for 6 years now and have worn them in both ears for two years

2. For how long before you got your hearing aids did you suspect you had a
hearing loss?

Since I was 3 but doctors never said I actually need them until I was an adult

3. How long do you wear your hearing aids each day?

From about an hour after I get up until about an hour before I go to sleep

4. Do you feel like you get benefit from your hearing aids?

Yes I do

5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids?

feed back, they aren't a big benefit in backround noise

6. Do you feel like your hearing aids have lived up to what your audiologist or
hearing aid dealer told you they would do?

Yes but they are too loud...the audi say she set them at that volume to ger maxiumum benefit but it hurts and at lower volumes it sounds to muddled

7. Did you get your hearing aids from an audiologist or a hearing aid dealer?

moment i wake up to moment i go to bed

yes, i have huge difficulty communicating orally without them
5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids?
sores from earmolds, batteries, FM recievers don't come in many colors
6. Do you feel like your hearing aids have lived up to what your audiologist or
hearing aid dealer told you they would do?
yes

glad to help, but if this is due tomorrow, shouldn't you have started this a while ago? Also, if you plan to be an audiologist, how is it that you don't know 3 people with HAs?? Don't know any old people or something at least?

1. How long have you worn your hearing aids?

Since 2 yrs old (28 years prior CI)

2. For how long before you got your hearing aids did you suspect you had a
hearing loss?

Born profoundly deaf, DX at 2 by docs although my parents knew i was deaf since i was born as we had 3 dogs, I didn't startle at fire alarm when i was a day old, they knew but the docs thought my parents were over anxious!!

3. How long do you wear your hearing aids each day?

Few hours (5-6) since i am allergic to most ear moulds and suffer from severe tinnitus, now days i can bear with one in unimplanted ear for longer

4. Do you feel like you get benefit from your hearing aids?

Only for little environmental sounds, i was craving for clairty all the time, no speech so not much

5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids?

Feed backs, no clairty just jumbled up sounds if i turn it up any louder, my ear itches all the time from moulds

6. Do you feel like your hearing aids have lived up to what your audiologist or
hearing aid dealer told you they would do?

As British, The NHS provides the HA, I get what they provide. The Audiologist and the staff, they all have NO deaf Awareness, I felt like an object on conveyer belt, there is no advice, if you don't like it, tough.

Worn hearing aid in my right ear since 14 months( 18 years ish) from 14 months to 10 years for my left ear (9 years ish)

2. For how long before you got your hearing aids did you suspect you had a
hearing loss?

Mum suspected my hearing loss at 8 months, she told doctors at my 9 month baby check up that I was deaf, got my first hearing aids at 14 months. So 5 months

3. How long do you wear your hearing aids each day?

All waking hours

4. Do you feel like you get benefit from your hearing aids?

Not for speech(that's what CI is for, but can hear a lot of sounds etc.


5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids?

No complaints

6. Do you feel like your hearing aids have lived up to what your audiologist or
hearing aid dealer told you they would do?

Yes

I was too young to remember, my parents realised I had a hearing loss by the time I was about three.

All day, everyday.

Definitely, couldn't manage without them.

Wish they were waterproof and that I could hear better with them in background noise.

yes.
