Hi, this is Carlos from Seattle, Washington. How all you are doing? If is anybody from seattle feel free to say hello to me, I am new in here. By the way penpal are welcome, so stop by and say hello.

Hi There

My name is Joie [pronounced JOEY] and I live in Mississippi. I have come to this site cause of the unusual reason that a medicine I am taking for tuberous sclerosis has caused my tongue to swell to the point where I can't talk. I'm getting better, however, I have always been fascinated with ASL since I don't know when.

I took 2 ASL courses in college cause I wanted to have somewhat of an advantage when I got certified in medical transcription and who knows if I would've been sharing a cubicle with an actual deaf person.

I find it fascinating and I find it an insurance policy in case of laryngitis or medicine reactions like I just mentioned. I don't judge or damn anyone who wants to learn the good and bad words for the correct reasons. That to me shows maturity on their part. I hope you'll love and accept me open mind and all.

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum, Carlos and Joie. Just have fun reading and posting all the threads here. Gotta have discussion about the kind of topic you want to discuss or debate with us, d/Deafies. See you around here.

Bebo, Carlos, I would love to learn good and bad words in ASL. Why do I say that? Cause there's good and bad words in the real world. You have a beautiful photo. Oh my user-name represents my love of cats.

I might be "a hearing person" but my father may as well be a deaf person cause he's had one working ear for 78 years due to a birth defect. If you want to refer to me as Puss, go ahead, if you want to refer to me as Joie, go ahead, if you want to give me my own name and it's within regulations [oh and it's somewhat nice], you can call me that too - just let me know what it is AHEAD of time LOL? Thank you so much.

Something tells me my time here is gonna be major cool fun.
