Hi I am a parent of a 20 month old little boy who is possibly going to get cochlear implants. He is still in the process of having everything checked, but we are pretty sure he will be able to get the implants. But it's a very scary decision to make on wether or not to put him through the sugery. I have talked to some other parents who have children and I have heard a lot of good things about it.

I am also a hearing parent of a deaf child with a CI. Mine has a progressive loss, so she didn't get her CI until she was 5. It was a great choice for our family, but we also use sign.

I would recommend checking out cicircle : Pediatric Cochlear Implant Circle. It is a yahoo group just for parents of deaf kids with implants.
