Hi . I was born completely deaf then got CI at 1 1/2 years old. So I grew up orally, now at 16 years I want to learn sign language.

Welcome!! I am hearing, but just learning as well. I've been teaching myself since Feb. Have you taken any classes?

to AllDeaf forum. I can understand your need to learn ASL or any sign langauge that you want to learn. Sign langauge open a big door and give your shoulder a lift off from your frustration to understand what hearing people say in the school settings. Only way to do that is go to the sign language class like ASL. I wish you good luck finding a ASL class to learn how to sign properly. I hope you have fun reading and posting all the threads here.
