I hope joining on behalf of a family member is acceptable here?? My Mom lost her hearing due to a surgery over a year ago and is so full of questions, but relies on me to get the answers for her on here

She had a hip replacement done and they let all her spinal fluid leak out. By the time the neurologist discovered the problem it was too late. She had a cochlear implant done in February of last year, but has had a ton of problems with it. I'm hoping I can help her find some answers here!

Thank you!

Yes you and your family member are mostly welcome to join this group. No matter if they are hearing, hoh or deaf. They are so kool and enjoy to learn about many different topics. If you feel need ask questions or want to know more, just ask Alex as owner.
Welcome! :)

Hello Angelsmom,

Welcome to AD and enjoy your stay here! ;)

Thanks everyone! I haven't had the chance to tell my Mom I found this site yet, but hopefully - my body willing - I can go see her tomorrow. It's hard as I'm sure you all know when you can't talk to them on the phone anymore.

Welcome Angelsmom! I know there are a handful of latedeafies and postlingals here, but the majority of us are prelingal deaf. You might find a lot of good info here, but there's plenty of hoh and late deafie info sites out there . Lev....got the links for ALDA and SHHH?
