I am not currently deaf but starting chemo and radiation in the next month. All with the usual side effects there is a possibility of greatly diminished hearing if not deafness. Additionally since the primary tumor is at the base of my tongue, surgery will be required if the chemo and radiation aren’t fully successful. Tongue removal is on the table. So I’m hoping to follow threads and learn about coping with this as well as technology to assist with interacting with family and friends. Trying to be prepared as best as possible if this comes to pass. I did buy a beginners guide to ASL yesterday and will be looking for an app to help with learning.
If this is the wrong forum any advice on an appropriate group would be appreciated.
