I was a house parent in Romney WV and have many deaf friends up there but none in Fl. I am an author and have just finished a book titled Chasing Freedom, Reflections of a White House Boy. The WHB were a group of kids 10-17 yrs old who were flogged until their pants had to be picked out of the wounds in their buttocks. Read about it at The White House Boys. I am interested in politics because I have a friend who is running for US Senate, if we can generate enough votes to get him on the ballot. He also is a White House Boy. As his consultant I have informed him about some special needs that accompany the deaf community. He is willing to take on your cause if you will let us come talk to you in your language, I know the American Sign Language. Nothing to lose, I don't see people standing in line anywhere offering to help the deaf community, so give him a chance, put him on the ballot by filling out and signing the petition at ElectBernie.com.
