Hello everyone. I joined up a few days ago but it's taken me a while to get up the courage to introduce myself. I hope I'm putting this on the right page, I've never posted anything on a forum before lol. I am totally deaf so don't talk to anyone except my husband and sons and I feel quite isolated from the world in general. Does anyone else find that hearing people treat you as if you're stupid sometimes? It happens a lot where I live. I've been reading the forum for quite a while now and it's good to find a site with other deaf and hoh people. You all sound so nice and friendly so erm...hello

I have been treated like a low class citizen by many hearing people too many times which is why I am so happy that I found the Deaf community and learning ASL.

This is a great forum too! Hope u enjoy it here. :)

Thanks for the welcome, nice to meet you. I don't sign at the moment but the time has come to start learning BSL next month.

I'm British and live in Germany for over 22 years. :) It's nice to see British people around here... :thumb:
