hello! i'm jenny, i'm eighteen and live in scotland! i've been hard of hearing since birth, my mum is profoundly deaf as is my 3 year older. because of peer pressure, i refused to wear my hearing aids for years and because of that my hearing gradually got alot worse. but now because of my new hero, marlee matlin, they are a constant in my life and i'm very proud of it!

Welcome, Jenny. I was similar to you growing up. Hated wearing my HAs and was afraid of what others would think. Now, I wear them all the time. Even though they don't really help with understanding speech, I still want people to see them and know that I have a hearing loss. HAs are part of my identity now, and I'm proud of it!
