Hey folks,

I am not 100% deaf yet, but what I have is progressive and reaching a point that it has a daily impact on my life. I was fortunate to have some friends on another user community recommend this site and here I am.

I am not big on introductions, but I am quite willing to answer any questions. In the mean time, I am looking for advice on learning to sign. :)

Hello. Learning to sign should be pretty easy if you have a local community college or a deaf center. I am not sure how big Richardson is, but hopefully one of our Texans will be along to help you soon.

Heights Baptist Church, 201 W. Renner Rd., Richardson, TX 75080 damartisigns(at)aol.com

Here are a couple of churches that list as deaf.

Yeah, I am not Christian and would feel uncomfortable in such an environment. Any secular options?

I am a bit lost as a whole.. I have never really had much contact with the resources for the deaf. However, I think I will check with the city. They usually have lots of community classes. That should at least be a good place to start.

Hello

I am hearing and I am also learning ASL. I live currently live in Austin, TX. If you FB you can add the Deaf Network of Texas as a friend. Once a friend, you will receive daily updates of deaf events, socials, chat and ASL classes for the entire state of Texas.

Also if you Google Deaf Dallas, you will find a wealth of information regarding services provided to the deaf and hard-of-hearing persons in the Dallas , TX area.

See you around :D

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. Have fun reading and posting all the threads here. See you around here.
