Hello. My name is Sarah. I am hard of hearing. I have been since I was about 6 years old. ( I am 30 now). I wear two hearing aids. I was given to much antibiotic when I was a baby and this cause some rare nerve damage. It's a rare hearing loss. I have been through speech classes in school and all that good stuff. I can't hear when people whisper to me, I read lips and have been doing so since I was a 6th grader. So if I don't look in your eyes while your talking, it cause I am reading your lips to make sure I understand what your saying. I can not understand a person who puts their hands in front of their mouth while speaking. I can not hear high pitched noises, such as a dog's whine. (sometimes I can, but rare).
I am married, and currently taking online classes to get my Associates degree in Medical Assisting. I like to read a lot, I have a Nook, and regular books as well, drawing, and whatever else I find interesting at the time I will try.
