Hi, I am new to this site. I am hard of hearing in one ear and deaf the other. I have had hearing on and off all my life. I know ASL and enjoy speaking with people (hearing and deaf).

I hope to meet some nice people and learn from them as well. *smile* I live in a hearing world and I have one foot in the hearing world and one foot in the deaf world. It can be lonely and confusing as well as frustrating. I am young and because of my disabilities people have thought I was "stuck-up" or "not listening," etc. I have good voice skills because I have taken voice lessons and I have had the hearing on and off all of my life. I would much rather be blind than deaf and I have read that Helen Keller said the same thing. In the dark I cannot see a thing! - I am blind and deaf. I hate the dark.

WELCOME TO ALLDEAF. IT NICE TO SEE SOMEONE IN THE SAME BOAT AS ME. I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. SO AGAIN WELCOME TO ALLDEAF. :)
 
Welcome, although I'm not deaf. My wife (FelixKat930) is and has been since birth. I also just recently joined and had fun since then :scatter:

Welcome to AllDeaf! I am a hearie myself, but, like jlfwildkat, I am in love with a deaf woman (deaflinuxgeek here). I've had fun posting my over 1000 posts here. :)
