My name is Emily, and am studying ASL in college. Having studied a smeseter of English Sign Language in H.S., and a quarter at another college, I knew I had to learn ASL. So I signed up in Sep. of this year. The words fail me when trying to articulate the ways in which my eyes and heart have been opened wide. One of the first things I ask people when i share with them what I'm studying is "have you ever heard of the Deaf president now movement?" and the overwhelming response no. I wasn't aware of it, either, till I started studying ASL. We have much to learn in the hearing world. I'm excited to be educated and enlightened!

I've got to give credit to my teacher, R.J., who is EXTREMELY gifted! He's a VERY patient and humorous man!

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. I don't understand much of what you said. Are you d/Deaf? And what you mean you have so much to learn in the hearing world. :hmm: Anyway, I hope you have fun reading and posting all the threads here. :wave:
