I'm hearing, and I started to date my girlfriend who is deaf about 7 months ago and before then I didn't know a thing about sign. Now, I'm going to school in september to be an interpreter. My girlfriend and her family think I sign amazing, but the only problem I have, is inclination to her. I went to Gallaudet to visit her friends with her, and I understood a few people, but not very well. If she signed the exact same thing as another deaf person, i'd understand her. So before I go to school, id really like some more experience signing with different deaf people. If anyone would like to chat, that would be great! :)
 
As you use ASL alot with other deafies will help alot... socialize with deafies.. helps alot... go for it...
 
I would like to try to. The only deaf person I know is my girlfriend. I've met a few of her friends, but they mostly live farther away and in Washington so I don't really have a chance to. That's what makes it hard. So if anyone would like to chat, it would help a lot. But if not, I can accept that too lol :ty:

Welcome, im always willing to talk to anyone. its hard for me to meet other deaf people too, i dont know many deaf people or how to meet them. guess you could say i was raised as a hearing guy mostly. i first heard of sign language in the 6th grade. which has been doing me a lot of good, i been losing more and more hearing and my sister learned sign too :) my own personal interperter lol. anyways im always here to talk.
