Hi

In NZ we are ment to have free hearing aids if you are under 21 and are in education.

17 in the correspondence school because deaf school are a bunch of :liar::asshole: s and mainstream are conpletely useless heres what I would like to do :OP: please note Im a chick this is not possible as much as I would like it to be.

Yes I can go private the problem I would to grow $3000 too young for a bank loan looking into student loan possiablity.

My audi keeps telling me I can hear (which is:bsflag:) Yes I respondce to tones on the audiogram but that does not mean I understand speech or noise. Eg If a cars coming I may hear it but I cant tell how close it is to hitting me if I'm crossing the road

NZ Audiological Society - Public Section - Funding for Hearing Aids

In this website I found:

Children's Hearing Aids are FREE
Hearing aids fitted to children under the age of 18 (or under 21 years of age while in fulltime education) are funded at no cost to their families through a provision in the health system known as the "Special Aid Fund". Funding is available for both new and replacement hearing aids. There is also funding available for hearing aid repairs and batteries. While adult patients may need to be placed on a waiting list for provision of hearing aids through the public health system (or hospital clinics), children are seen for fitting of hearing aids without delay.

I don't know if free hearing aids do apply to correspondence school as correspondence school is mostly on your own time to study.

Your other choice is to go WINZ and see your case manger, ask them to help you to pay for new hearing aids.
