what suggestion would you make?

mine would be 4cly noise for slow car, v8 noise for fast cars, v12 noise for rich people's car..... tractor noise for electric tractors, and a jet engine noise for trucks.....

I think the whole thing is idiotic. The noisiest part of most modern (gasoline or diesel) cars when they're in motion is the sound of the tires on the road surface. Only muscle cars make a lot of noise and that's deliberate. Hybrid buses only make a noise if the driver puts their foot down.

This is just the EU nanny state trying to take responsibility for idiot pedestrians who want to walk into the street without looking. They do that already, having a noisemaker on your car won't prevent willful stupidity.

Will these need a noisemaker too?
