Makaton isn't sign language exactly.  It is hand symbols plus pictures to make communication easier.  It is not a language, it is more like total communication and pictures, so speak + sign + pictures = Makaton.  It does use the local sign language, so some of the Makaton signs this teacher is using would be BSL.  But it's not really a language, it's just a way to make communication easier.


I have mostly heard of it used with autistic kids, this is a great new way to use it!
