Hi Guys,

I have DVR Motorlia bulti-in CC, I test ABC News "Real-Time" version is not smooth!! I am upset

I idea I test HDTV with ATSC (OTA/Wireless) without DVR, it is SMOOTH!!! Why Any CableTV Company's DVR / Set-box don't care for CC ??? but Sony, JVC, Samsung, etc. care CC for deaf

every TV are required to have CC by FCC, not DVR only.

That doesn't matter. Most High-Def decoders, if they're DVRs or not, can't pass CC coding on HDMI or Componant connections, so the decoder for ATSC has to decode captioning and render it on the screen as it would a menu. Some boxes do this well, some don't.

The DirecTV HR-20 does this very well now, thanks to several people, myself included, getting on them about it.

If you have DirecTV, and an HDTV, get their HR-20 DVR. It's awesome.

at least, did you test it before you decide to keep it?

I threatened to return it if they didn't fix it, and they did. So I tested it a long time. When they finally fixed it, I bought another. I like the HD-DVR a lot.
