So here is what I have to do...
-Select a marginalized group within our society to report on, for example, Aboriginal People, people who are part of distinct religious communities or people who identify as being transgender or transsexual.

As a guideline, consider the following list of items as areas worth investigating:

cultural health: wellness and illness beliefs, traditional vs. “modern” medicine
mental health issues
women’s healthcare issues
children’s healthcare issues
elderly healthcare issues
abuse by health care professionals

I'm having trouble what to pick and Grace suggested I do the Deaf community as a subculture ... but it has to be related to health and diff topics of health..could you guys help me:)
I just need topics I could report on and resources and many of you require terps and such for hospital and doctor visits etc so I figure you guys would know what to write on

I think very interesting how many deaf/HOH kids mislabel as autistic.

You'll have a CI report alongside with its pros and cons whipped up within minutes.

it can't be on a medical device it has to be different topcs of health within a group or culture.
for ex
cultural health: wellness and illness beliefs, traditional vs. “modern” medicine
mental health issues
women’s healthcare issues
children’s healthcare issues
elderly healthcare issues
abuse by health care professionals

Wirelessly posted

I saw somewhere that deaf have higher chance of having mental illness I cant remember what medical book since it was so long time ago

What about the Deaf seeking out health care less often than hearing counterparts because of the difficulty with communication with physicians and other health care professionals. I know that they seek out mental health care far less often because of the problem of few signing therapists, and the need to use a terp in a therapy session. I have some research on this I could forward you.

Actually, there is no greater incidence of mental illness in the deaf population than you find in the hearing population. It is proportional in numbers. However, the deaf seek out care less often, so there is a greater incidence of untreated mental disorders. The Deaf are also at greater risk for being misdiagnosed.
