People everywhere are digging through their wallets to find a dollar bill with a rare serial number in the hopes that it’s rare enough to cash in for thousands.

CoolSerialNumbers.com is hoping that people will start to pay attention to the numbers printed on their bills, and as an incentive for taking a closer look, the website is offering people who have bills with rare serial numbers the chance to cash them in for sometimes thousands of dollars.

Not every bill will get you thousands of dollars, however. There are especially rare bills containing unique serial numbers that adhere to specific qualifications, and if those are found, they can get people lots of extra cash.

Mad World News reports that there are some specific values the website is looking for, including:
•7 repeating digits in a row on $1 Federal Reserve Notes (i.e. 09999999, 77777776)
•7 of a kind on $1 Federal Reserve Notes (i.e. 00010000, 99999099)
•Super repeaters on $1 Federal Reserve Notes (i.e. 67676767)
•Double quads on $1 Federal Reserve Notes (i.e. 00009999)

Those aren’t the only serial numbers the site is hoping for, however. CoolSerialNumbers.com lists all different types of serial numbers that they are in search of. Make sure you check your wallet, and don’t let go of that cash until you take a closer look at the number printed on the front.

Susan B Anthony did not have a dollar bill.. she was a silver dollar coin. The Kennedy half dollar is probably more valuable.

I still have a $2 dollar bill and a $5.00 bill that has red markings on it (the seal is red on the front- I have no idea why).

what the heck? Yes these are still used in the US. They may not be PRINTED anymore but they're still floating around out there and will be for a while. Thought I had one- must have used that today for my co-pay...:P
I doubt they will be worth much of anything someday either.

????? I don't know- I'll see if I can get a pic of it (don't feel right scanning it lol)

aha... It was this one (scroll down to see picture). That's the one I have- I think the 1963 one. Alas- it isn't worth much apparently but I kept it because it was cool.

I'll take the $500.00 but definitely without Mr Trump's portrait on it! What a strange man with his recent remarks while entering the presidential race.
