Ok, so I broke down and ordered the Hatis Epic single ear hook device, since my FM transmitter yet again is broken and has been sent in for repairs. The Hatis ear hook, it works similar to the neckloops, except, you put the ear hook onto your ear behind the hearing aid, and put your hearing aid onto the telecoil setting.

I am very happy with the Hatis ear hook. It's right behind my hearing aid, and I can hear the music on my iPod very clearly. With the neckloop, the volume on my hearing aid AND ipod (or dvd player) would be turned up to the max and it would still be too quiet. With my Phonak FM system, volume on ipod or DVD player would be turned up to the max, and sometimes is still a bit quiet. Today, when I put the Hatis on and turned on my iPod, I just about blasted my ear off and had to turn the volume down. Wow. But it works great. I think I'll just not use my FM system anymore, considering how often it likes to break/quit working.

Info about the Hatis epic: HATIS® - BTE Products :: Epic
Harris Communication listing: Hatis Epic Audio Headset

I have the Single ear hook, as I only wear 1 hearing aid. But they have doubles for those who wear 2 hearing aids or CI's. As long as you have telecoil on your HA or CI, the Hatis will work. Expensive, yes, but I think it's worth the money.

You can also go to my blog for pictures, as I just made a post today about the Hatis. CD's Ear Blog :)

the old T-Mic, which I don't think they make anymore. Got it in 2001, and now when i go to the Phonak site, they have new ones up, but never the T-Mic that I have. At least once or twice a year I call my audiologist complaining the FM transmitter isn't working, and he'd have to send it off.

That is frustrating!

I use the Phonak EasyLink with no problems so far...hopefully they don't start! Do you use Phonak aids? If so which ones?

i have the smartlink and same thing no probs so far. speaking of..i cant find my charger..i shud go do that:S.
jennyb, it looks like ur ha is a phonak, which one do u have?

I have a Phonak Savia Art, not doing much for me right now though. I am trying a Phonak Naida next week! I can't wait! Sooooo excited!

aww nice. I love my phonak! I have the phonak una:) i only have a moderate hearing loss rite now so until then my una will hopefully last a long time:)

I have the Supero, which I got almost 4 years ago. I've always worn Phonak HA's my whole life. And the T-Mic does break easily. The plastic covering cracks easily, and yeah. Gives me so much trouble from time to time, it's frustrating.

Hatis ear hook.

Hi. I never heard about this. I was wondering if this going to work on CI bte. Tell me what should I need to get?

It does work with cochlear implants, if you have the Telecoil setting on it. I have a friend on another messageboard who has CI's and uses the Hatis ear hook (he just recently got a 2nd CI).

Hatis ear hook.

Hi. I wants to know more about it. I wants to know if I can use it for my cell phone on my sidekick? Where can I get an information from?

:ty:

I'm sure you can use it for your Sidekick since it functions the same way as headphones.

You'll have to get an adapter for the plug-in jack, as the headphones plug-in on the sidekick is smaller than the standard.
