I've a stationary bike that looks exactly like this one. Only issue is that the monitor does not work.

I had it up on Craigslist for only $110 because of that issue. I figured that it would sell fast and that I needed money. I would get $110 fast.

A person wanted it. We talked via text. they asked me to call. I told them I am deaf so I cannot use voice phone. Person passed on it because I would not call him/her on phone. They were worried about scams on craigslist and insisted on talking to a real person.

I would easily have my Mom call and make arrangement but I decided to not bother with someone who is being dick. You know, I don't have to sell it for $110. I would sell it for $150 if I wanted to, but I was nice to sell it for only $110. So I don't have to kiss to this person's ass. If they want a good deal, text me!!!

So, I can always delete it off craigslist and list it later for $150. See, they were idiot for not wanting it for $110 when they had the chance or I can always drop it off to be auctioned and it may fetch $200 or so and I would still get a lot more than $110 after fees. Who ever buy this one will end up having to pay the inflated auction price and auction fees. Life is soooo good being deaf :).

I do have VP 200 from sorenson. My phone is a Verizon Stratosphere. I hardly uses VP because my girlfriend is hearing and we do fine with texts and messengers.

When I sell stuff on eBay or CL, I've run into people that freak out, so I explain to them that they are calling through a relay service. Sometimes I tell them to leave a number and I call them via VCO. Some still freak out, others understand. If they really want something, they will call you.
 
My husband had to speak for me when we went out to eat tonight. The waiter couldn't understand my speech, even after I repeated myself THREE times.

I agree with you-life is great being Deaf. :) I got free soda once at a fast food place because the person at the register felt bad for me. Got out of a felony speeding ticket too thanks to being Deaf. The cop came down hard on me until he heard me speak and then he let off of me and let me go with a verbal warning.

I do not use craigslist at all to sell or buy. Last time I tried to buy a puppy ( it was a pit bull that I knew was being sold too young, I was going to rescue it ), the person called back but hung up on me because they could not understand my speech.

If I need to talk to a stranger on the phone I let my husband do the talking. No one is willing to text a stranger and relay calls are rather futile.

True, if they really want something they will take the time to go through the hoops for you. :wave: Just watch out for anyone trying to low ball you because they think they can because you are Deaf.
