I read somewhere on the website. Some graduate or business schools are not require deaf applicants to take GRE or GMAT.

Can I tell Columbia Business School, I am deaf and will they wavied me for not take GMAT?

or any schools that inform I am deaf but are they ask me take GRE test?

Maybe, is it not fair? because some professors told me that it is very difficult for deaf applicants.

GMAT/GRE is NEVER waived for ANY reason. It does not matter if you are blind or deaf or special or wheelchair.

GMAT and GRE are 2 different exams for different graduate school.

It is only difficult for those applicants who do not study very hard.

Did you study for GRE/GMAT yet?

no, I did not study for GRE/GMAT yet.

what is about low score?

what is required for admission to Columbia Business School? It said 3.40

I did not understand about average work experience is 5

my undergraduate gpa is 3.0

if you want to go to business graduate school, you need to get a job for a few years first. You need to understand that GPA is not the only requirement. You need to understand that the more you obsessed about GPA and GRE/GMAT score, the less likely you will get into any graduate school.

Do you understand that you need to find a job after you graduate Gallaudet?

I understand.

I understand.

will you stop asking too much questions about graduate school and scores? Do you understand that all you have to do is call the graduate college's admission office and ask?

How about this? Remember Jiro works for admissions, right? Ask too many questions and Jiro can report you to graduate schools for instant rejection!!!

Ummm why should Hoh/Deaf be exempt from taking GRE or GMAT ?? That doesn't even make sense!

You're either smart enough to LEGITIMATELY get into a university or college ... or you need to find a job that doesn't require college.

I don't understand the relationship between being Hoh/Deaf and "skipping out" on various tests because they're "hard" (they're MEANT to be a tool to determine IF you have the noggin to do the school work ... if you can't get a good enough mark of the tests, you aren't going to have a hope of doing well in the actual CLASS)

I just don't get it!!

Then your GPA is not high enough to be admitted. You seriously need to find some realistic goals for yourself.

Yeppers. I would have been pissed if my grad school cohort had a deaf student that didn't have to take the GRE for admission. I had to take it, and my undergrad GPA was 3.94. I have no problem with testing accommodation...but to skip it completely? Hell, no.

Trust me - I'd be MORE pissed if I was told "oh, you're Hoh/Deaf - you don't have to take these tests then because we know they're too difficult"

Seriously - heads would ROLL if I ever got told that!

Oh, yeah! And I'd have your back on that one, too!

I can honestly say that my deaf mentor (Columbia teachers school graduate w/ a masters, NYU undergrad) would be mortified if she was excused from taking a required test because she was deaf. She was my ASL 1 & ASL 2 professor at my last college.

And before you even ask Matajan. She is engaged to another teacher she met from work. No I do not know if he is hearing or not.

I never take GRE or GMAT while I was a graduate student....it was in the past. Now, most of colleges/universities require GRE or GMAT from now on.
