The only thing that connected to WiFi is MVP itself, my computer and my mom's computer couldn't connect, whats the password for wifi and router?

Connecting to wifi from a router, such as your mom's, you should have known the password when you set it up, if you tried to connect to your mom's router, just ask your mom for the password.

if nobody knows the password - simply reset the router (a tiny button from behind router) and re-configure the security settings yourself

If it was the purple router, it will lose all the port forwarding and the important details to make the MVP work. It will disappear if fyou reset it.

Why Purple don't give the password to their customer in first place?

More customers angry at Purple.

I know that they won't give it to clients. If clients need it to create SSID key number for using other laptop, you support Customer Care to get it.

I think that our representatives should give SSID numbers to clients. They won't allow them to play for fixing network settings in routers. I will discuss my manager about it soon.

Screw them. I resetted DIR 625 to factory setting, I got in the control panel and set my MVP to listening port on 1722, like my

IP ADDRESS:1722 will call to MVP
IP ADDRESS will call to VP200

Simple as that.

Did you get MVP? no... I replaced my router to DIR 625, I do not know the password to get in WiFi, my computers and MVP picked up router's ssid is HOVRS WIFI

It has happened to me the same thing. At first, both 625 router and mvp worked great that I used several times.

The purple installer told me that mvp will not work using my own 624 router and knew that the 625 router is the superior router (and free) so I accept the offer without realizing something else thereafter...

But I then discovered that the FAQ on their site that it says that one of three recommended routers is 624 router which I do have it so I then realize that there must be a firmware for the 624 router so I gonna ask for that and test to see if mvp works with it although one question ponders me as if the Sorenson firmware inside my own 624 wifi router, so will the mvp firmware conflicts with vp 200 formware or not, I wonder?

Anyway, I discovered that my laptop wifi didn't work with the purple 625 router on yet the ethernet... strange. I was given a password but after I accessed the DLink and wanted to edit (fix) the 625 router and discovered that they demand admin password and realized that I was given an user password only.

What more? I discovered that the 625 router allows the the admin pw "keyholder" (that is Hovrs) only to access your all peripherals via the purple router which leave you much less security-sense this way... it says remote management = all.

Whoa, it's much like giving them (hovrs) your master house key and your computers and peripherals being your house rooms... you do not have the house key to access and edit or modify whatever unless you call your local hovrs installer to go over your place at a date/time to correct it... no ****** way for me to accept the way like this!

Anybody should be considered about this, too. I really think that it might be unethical of them doing this (withholding admin pw) and forcing them to accept mvp (and routers) as primary one over Sorenson's and/or your router... unless if it's fixed properly.

I then decided to replace my 624 router over the purple 625 router for now and little while till hovrs and I need to work it out with a solution. Hell, it took me several hours altogether getting all back on, right including the access code for the vp 200... all works fine now.. including mvp's browser and wifi but not videophone-able yet.

See, this is a free mvp and router, if needed so the customer have to comply their wish in order to take advantage of their products and give up your "network security feeling". Like I said before in other thread as why I preferred the purchase power over the free offer(s).

I really think that it's best way for anyone to buy your own router or your existing router, if applicable to work with mvp and others of yours... unless if hovrs is willing to provide customers their admin password on those purple routers which would be great for everyone. If they refuse to give me the admin/SSID pw then I will buy new router that will work for both, maybe a 625 router of my own?!

Although not many people know how to properly set up their routers themselves, you know. So I kind of understand their reason for holding the admin pw from the customers and prefer to configure the routers themselves, probably. But still, you know...

The purple installer came here twice already and I have to call her once more (maybe twice more)... ah, that is another trouble for not having the admin/SSID password in my hand.

I'm sure more and more unhappy customers to come ahead... remember that it's still in the early phase on 20/20 adopters now although so hope that they realize what is the better way for both parties.

Tonight I will call hovrs CC to discuss for the solution on my part and what I want then fix it. (sorry, this is bit long lol)

web730, I wonder that MVP won't work with your D-Link DI-624 router. I need what version of your own router. You look under panel of it to see version.

DI-624 wifi router... version? I am not sure which one you mean? But I see the firmware version is 2.42... that one?

I wondered the same thing too. My girlfriend's daughter has laptop and it has wifi installed inside her laptop. She wanted to know if she can get internet from MVP router. She is sick and tired not getting enough wifi signal coming from office next door to us. The office was closed during the weekend and she had to wait until it opens on Monday. She was looking forward to get wifi from MVP router. After hearing this from web730, it made me think more because I don't know if the installer will give me admin password to get access to MVP router which made me to think and ask myself, "Something is wrong here, they can't just take away the admin password and keep it to themselves." I don't know but I will just wait until installer comes over this Tuesday and see if he get it all set up for me. This is making me concerned right now.

This is a little fishy when I read these feedbacks from the MVP customers, but the good thing is, that this is a MVP public beta testing, just remember HOVRS appreicates the feedbacks from the MVP, so about these admin passwords, you guys should give them a idea to set a password that everyone can have the access to set up access to the internet and all.

Yeah, the whole 'you can't know the password to this router' thing is really fishy. I want to use my Linksys router for MVP, but the wifi strength is so weak on it, my picture is blurry/pixelated. However, if I'm in the same location as the MVP, my computer and my iPhone gets the strongest wifi signal.

I switched my Linksys router with the Dlink one that came with the MVP, and reset it. The wifi signal on the Dlink was TERRIBLE. I had it configured to the Linksys settings.. so I am definitely not using the Dlink router. Purple should let people configure their router and post their port settings or whatever it is that was pre-configured on the Dlink router.

I am not comfortable with what I have heard from other people so far.. I'd like to be secure.
