I'm not surprised... Apple has been declining a bit since Steve Jobs era. Google remains powerful.

Apple is struggling, as the new guy has no clue what he is doing... Steve was doing all the leg work, this guy was just sniffing the piles of residue.

I think Apple really is struggling. My father recently downloaded Mavericks to upgrade OS....he hated it. I didn't get a chance to see it before he reverted back though. He said it was AWFUL...said that the windows and text were ridiculously tiny (his vision is ten times better than mine and is normal for a 75 year old guy). Unfortunately downloading then uninstalling/rolling back screwed up the wifi printing again so I need to fix that lol.

But- won't surprise me either when Google starts to fail too..the big tech companies like to innovate and push through products too fast before proper testing is even done on it so the products fail and wind up with more bugs than there should be.

(Must be why I can't find a F'ing job....)

I upgraded to Mavericks on my iMac, MacBook Pro... so far I have no issues but one thing is that I miss the "Front Row" movie theater reviews it used to have. But I'm not complaining... I'd probably get a simple laptop such as macbook air next time as I wouldn't need a cd/dvd rom for the laptops as pretty much everything is downloadable and streaming movies these days.

If he wants to go back to previous O/S he'd have to reformat and reinstall the previous O/S that came with it. But I'm not sure if they would still get any security updates. I think each updates are done after 10.8.9 then had you upgrade to 10.9 to continue.

Hmm he didn't have to- if I understood him correctly he set a "restore point" and just went back to that. Not sure how in the world the wifi printer got messed up considering I fixed that issue back in February or March so it shouldn't have been screwed up... I haven't heard if my brother did anything with Mavericks or not (he has a Mac Air I think but not sure what his desktop is or if he still has a desktop); I do know that my dad's good friend up in PA upgraded almost as soon as it came out (he does every single time... upgrades, does stuff with his Mac- and usually screws it up badly- has for well over 15 years now lol- Apple Support I suspect is on a first name basis with him now...)
