My name Is Robin and I am hearing.I help run a Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop. The children want to learn ASL. There are several Scout Mottoes and Promises used in scouting. The children want to know them in ASL. I can give them the English words but they want to know ASL. One of the things they want to learn is the Pledge to the American Flag in ASL.

I just wanted to introduce myself and express why I registered on this site. Please message me if you can assist me or if you can direct me to good resources.

Thank you.

Welcome to AD!
If you are looking for translations, may I suggest ASLPro.com to learn the basic signs you need, but I would suggest you look around your area for a church, School, or organization that works directly with the d/Deaf to get the grammar and usage for your translations. The signs alone will make it SEE (Signed exact English), not ASL.

As for the site ASLpro.com, they have a standard and religious dictionary so you can get some of the more faith based signs in there if needed. Back when I was in scouts, I remember it was very faith based.

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. What FxAvatar said about ASLPro.com make a lot of sense to me when it comes to Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops. I do hope that will help you to teach the signs to them for what the children want to learn ASL or for the lack of a better word, SEE (Signed Exact English). You are more welcome to browse around the forum to learn about us, Deafies. This discussion forum helps Deaf, Hard of Hearing and hearing people understand and learn about deafness, Deaf Cutlure and ASL. Enjoy reading and posting all the threads here. See you around here.
