Let me first explain my hearing problem:
250hz/40db rising to 1000hz/20db then dropping to 1500 Hz/45db, 2000hz/85db and 3000- 800-hz/90.
(Pure tone audiometry revealed a biliateral moderate sensorineural hearing loss and 250 Hz, rising to a mild sensorineural hearing loss through 1000Hz, slopping to a moderate sensorineural hearing loss at 1500 Hz, slopping to a profound sensorineural hearing loss through 8000Hz with no rsponse to equipment limits at 8000Hz in the right ear, Sppech recognition in quiet is good and fair in absence of visual cue in the right and left ears). I hear better when there is no background noise. I tried some HA but was not helpful. I know i have high frequency hearing loss and also suffering from Tinnitus too, and HA is no help.
My Questions are:
1. Am I candidate CI helps me.
2. Is there any HA helps me to hear better.
3. What do you know about Open-Fit-HA.
4. Any suggestion.

Thanks
Ozzie

Not for a CI, no. You need to be severe-profound in all frequencies for a CI.

Your loss isn't great enough to justify a CI. You'll definetly need a digital HA, I believe Naida would work well (especially with the high frequency loss performance).

The open fit HA allows people with greater hearing in some frequency to hear the sounds naturally/augmentated by the HA while still getting amplification from the HA. I doubt this will help you much since you already have problems hearing in noise, it's no good to have background reduction when it can bypass your hearing aid and go straight into the ear.

Perhaps it is not that you can't find the right aid but you need to find a different audi? I don't know your audi, but I know there should be an aid that can help. Most likely it won't help all that well in noise, but that is something we all face, CI and HA wearer alike. Your audi should be willing to let your try many brands, (most have "loaners") until you find the right one.
