Those opposed to this bill are essentially claiming that a person who can legally carry a firearm in Georgia's churches, bars, and other public places (public gathering laws were struck down a few years ago), will somehow become a thug and a criminal if they are allowed to carry on college campuses.

Please keep in mind, a criminal does not care about the law - they will take a gun on campus regardless if it is legal or not - this bill simply allows those individuals who can legally carry, to do so, for their own self protection, on college campuses.

The legislation under consideration in Georgia would allow anyone 21 or older with a weapons license to carry a gun anywhere on a public college or university campus, except for inside dormitories, fraternities and sorority houses, and at athletic events.

The campus carry law in Texas allow guns in university dorms.

I'm not going live in university dorm that where I don't want deal with numerous problems, especially partying and bunch of drunk students.

BTW, Alabama is unique because CCW age is 18.
