I am an aussie but live in Vancouver, Canada. I have been hearing impaired since 2.5 and have always been an oral deafie although I rely on lip reading a huge amount. Grew up in mainstream school but it was hard. I am now an elementary school teacher and the kids are learning so well how to use the proper etiquette for people with hearing impairments. I live mainly in a hearing world but still have the need for so many deaf things, it gets challenging at times. Looking forward to chatting with others.
