I don't think I will invite him to my picnic . I don't know how far up north a gator would come , the water is colder here so they might not like it.

At least no animals were harmed... :)

True that!...No matter the size of an Alligator, even a Crocodile....the farther away you stand, the better off you are....they will attack you. You're "dead meat" as far as they are concerned and if they are hungry....

This one had to been really hungry to eat a sandwich . I guess it's not safe to have a picnic too close to the water in Florida.

We have gators in South Carolina, too.

We do have Alligators in the river where I live...but have very high banks so they can't climb out. There are also some apartment complexes built on the river that do not allow animals. And do not allow any swimming...but some kids do it anyway...

Would break my heart if an alligator got my doggie!!

We have coyotes and foxes in my yard , really kids swim there anyway ? I hope their parents try to keep their kids out of the water.

I saw bit of film from Florida the town had pet one he sat by a marina everyday caused no problems seemed nice old thing he bothered no one and people seemed happy with him people stand next to him as if he not there..Admitalaly rather Florida than my town

my understanding of gators and crocs is that they're very opportunistic feeders, whatever they come across, if it could be edible, they'll try it.
In comparison to crocs, alligators as a group are less aggressive.

we have a pic. of my dad in Fl some years ago...he and my mom and her high school friend and friend's husband, took a trip down there, visited Sanibel Island....in the pic of my dad, he's standing in front of a gator that was meandering around the condo where they all stayed. Can't tell you how far in front of the animal he was standing. Another picture of them shows my mom and her friend at a alligator farm or some other touristy-type place where you can learn about the crocs and gators - they holding a very young gator, who has his mouth wrapped shut.
While they were down there, there was an attack by a gator on a dog who lived in one of the condo units.
They also took one of those airboat trips through the Everglades.

Once a year they get the hots send some message though the water it suppose be pleasant for deaf people stand in water with them when it happens..An Experince I pass on
