You need gas and you can't hear what the attendant is saying on speaker. You get out the hose press reg and its not pumping. Unlike in the old days it was so simple. We need full service back for the deaf.

I can't hear what they're saying either, but I think it's to the effect that they're authorizing you to pump gas. You might just have to wait a few seconds for them to activate the pump. They do this to prevent drive-offs. I think it's the same for hearing people too. Only other way around it is to pay by card which is what I usually do, so you would be able to pump as soon as your card authorizes it.

Seriously?

You must never have been deaf and trying to communicate with some stranger who wants your instructions on what to do .

Today is a lot better. You insert your card, you do what is needed, take your receipt and leave.

Don't go to a station where you might be expected to use a speaker.

Just prepay and they have no reason to try and use the speaker.

I do that , go inside and prepay with cash . I was pumping gas once during the winter and the woman inside got the speaker and said something to me and I had no idea what it was. I was pumping my gas first then paying after and when I went into pay the woman said she was trying to tell me to hold the handle tighter so it would pump faster and I would not freeze to death . LOL! I find it a lot easier to prepaid with cash .

Problem? I don't see any! With one exception, gas attendant in Massachusetts refused allow me pump diesel into my diesel powered truck, she was afraid I made mistake... o'really? Who is the owner of that damn truck? This applies to hearing people too sometimes.

WTF! Did the idiot think you where going to pump gas into the window cleaner or something ? What did you do , go to another gas station ?
I brought my car to be repaired I told owner of the shop that my starter was starting to go too and the guy said "I was getting paranoid" . He came back and said I needed a new brake and I said So I am not so paranoid after all!
And about a month my car would not start and I called AAA and the guy said " It was my starter'. I called the shopped up and told them I was right .
Some people think hoh people are slow.

I try not to use credit cards. Haven you heard the news about hackers in target stores and other stores have security breaches? Thats why I'm very careful with credit cards now.

Same as hearing motorists who speak foreign language, no English understand. You need full service? You need to sitting in your car, wave a BLUE HC tag at the cashier.

Credit cards offers best protection than any other form of payment. These breaches with Target, who pays the loss? Its the bank not the customers. With debit card, it offers little protection, cash... minimal protection, meaning if you lose cash, you are S O L Joker! hence why Credit card providers usually offer zero liability if somebody stole your credit card, and used it... they (bank) have to absorb the loss, not you.

You right diehard biker, but that still doesn't protect you if hacker hacked end into the credit card companies and get your personal info. Then what? We have not seen a massive attack on us with personal info yet, but it doesn't mean it not coming.

They just found out Home Depot was hacked longer than targets. Targets caught it after 3 weeks... Home Depot has been hacked since back in May, just found out after 4 months.

I did not check this one out but sometimes there is investigation well before it is made public. Need to double check that about this one.

Already have. They announced it last week. They are saying this one is even larger than the one that hit Target last holiday season. If that is the case, then Home Depot might be liable for far more than Target is.

Here's a link discussing that possibility:

Home Depot probes possible hack, could be larger than Target breach - The Denver Post

I never had issues pumping my own fuel into my tank. I just pay, pump my fuel and I'm on my way. :)

Customer told a service manager that her car need a new starter the her car was towed in. The tow driver told her it was starter. I came to this car with my scanner tool, to plug the OBDII port, found nothing wrong with PCM, test on a battery, battery ok...no crank with key on, spot a red dot (security) on the cluster that won't blinking with key turn on/off, I notice the plain key was made by the locksmith, notify a customer to see if she have an initial FOB. She came back, handed me her FOB, I turn the ignition, still cranking and fire up and runs fine. We charged her $100 for diagnostic. She just got a new key for herself, other original keys for her parents. She learn a lesson....

I hate having a key with a chip because it's expensive to replace and a pain if you have multiple keys (spare & family members) since you have to take all of the keys with you to get reprogrammed to match the new key.

I am not sure of the best way to phrase it to look for it but I seem to have a vague memory of at least one of the manufactures dropping the use of those kinds of keys because of customer complaints about duplication, etc.
