I'm sure they've had their good reason to close'em.

Yes I can agree with you that they got a good reason. CIS? CS? Theatre? It is so surprising to me.

Several good friends of mine got a well-paid jobs after they obtained their degrees in CIS and/or CS from Gally.

yea I thought it was odd because CIS is popular everywhere. I guess not???

is it because if they pick CIS, they prefer RIT??? :dunno:

I can tell you that RIT, not NTID got better CIS/CS programs than Gally.

Gally should add a couple of engineering programs because engineering positions are going to be hot in the job market for next 25 years.

true but... I don't see how cuz that would means they'll need to build engineering building. It's best that Gally sticks with what it does the best and same for RIT/NTID.

I just checked Gally academic programs and I think I know why they cut CS and CIS program because they already have had IT program.

ah.... that explains. yea I don't see Gally's strength in programming aspect.

Yeah

I remember my friend had to take some engineering courses at GWU in correspondence while attending Gally.

Also Gally is planning to spend $40 millions on construction projects. I dunno what they are for except a new library, overhaul of two dormitory halls into apartment building and destruction of the Hanson Plaza parking garage.

I can find out more later.

Also, another major area of job growth is accounting especially if a person is a CPA. Maybe, Gallaudet should add a MBA program in accounting.

there's MBA in Accounting?

never heard of it. I'm sure such thing exists but it's kinda oxymoronic. There is MBA in Finance and Business but accounting? no.

:dunno:

Agreed. I know Gally have a few excellent accounting professors cuz I took advanced accounting courses under them.

Well, my sister has MBA in accounting. :)

• Women’s Studies
When did they add Women's studies? Had I but known...........They're prolly getting rid of French and Deaf History b/c deaf history is kind of an obscure field. Surprised they're getting rid of Sped administration....would think that would be a giant field!

they cutting the hard sciences!!! Hurwitz is probably helping NTID/RIT get more deaf students from Gallaudet. Gally-L-net stated that 120 students did not come back for this semester. Maybe because of the no-voice-sign-only policies enforced by deaf radicals who will do anything to hate hearing people....
