I got my license when AI was 16; a few years later, dad tried to teach me how to drive a stick and the first time I popped the clutch, I thought he was going to have a heart attack. So, I kicked him out and taught myself. Fast forward a few years, learned how to double clutch a school bus and fortunately, got assigned to an automatic for the school year, the last year for the Ford buses.
A few years later, went to truck driving school and learned how to drive semi truck; when I was with one trainer, he taught me how to shift without using the clutch.
Parallel a crew cab truck?
Try doing that with either a 40-foot school bus (no trailer) or with a semi and a 53' trailer then tell me how tough it is!
Then, of course, I learned how to drive, park and back up on glare ice. I'm betting that with 80,000 lbs., (36,287 kg metric) no one will argue or fight with me over a parking spot.
