Phonak Naida V Sp and Up difference ? - Hearing Aid Forums | Hearing Loss | Hearing Aids

Anyone understand why the Naida SP and UP have different frequency ranges and what it actually means?

Quote from other website -

"Is there any significant difference between Ultrapower and Superpower models of phonak naida V hearing aid ?

Super power 75 db max gain , frequency range 100 - 6400 hz
Ultra power 82 db max gain , frequency range 100 - 4900 hz

I bought the SP one , cuz frequency range is wider . What is your opinion ? Is sound quality different ?"

I thought the only different was better low frequency for the UPs.

What about a CI?

Would a CI have even less frequency range then the Naida UP as well?

More interested in Cochlear brand as that is what I would get if HAs end up not working for me anymore. :)

I thought you had the UP like your username?
I have the SP and UP and I find the sound quality in the UP better than the SP. The CI's don't show what frequency range because I think everyone is different. I also plan on going with cochlear as there brand appeals to more than AB and Medel.

I do have the UPs. Never tried the SPs.

This bit is the quote from the website I looked at - I bought the SP one , cuz frequency range is wider . What is your opinion ? Is sound quality different ?"

I have heard a lot that people like the sound of the UPs better then the SPs even if they fit into the SPs.

I didn't even know hearing aids had frequency ranges, I just thought the frequencies went from 250htz to 8000htz like audiograms do :)

Ya I don't get how they work..lol but amplification, for me personally, just stinks hahahaha

I now know what this means. Naida UP will only go up to 4,900htz which is roughly half of what the audiogram goes up to which is 8000htz.

I know people with bad losses can't hear high frequencies that well anyway but I'm shocked that the Naidas don't go up higher.

Never knew all of these before :)

I was miss reading it as it didn't have a , in between the numbers :)
