[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-z0hDaqOgg]YouTube - Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) For Single Sided Deafness[/ame]

Phi4sius considered a BAHA but it doesn't give real hearing, it just redirects the sound from the dead ear to the better ear. He applied for a CI but insurance turned him down. Now he's waiting for stem cells so he can finally hear in the dead ear which hasn't heard a sound in 25 years!

@deafdude1- Actually, I believe you're referring to bi-cross hearing aids re: redirecting sound to the other ear, not the BAHA. However, the BAHA is for bone conduction losses, not sensorineural hearing loss.

I also read that a BAHA can be used for unilateral deafness. I guess in your case even your good ear isn't good enough to qualify for BAHA. Besides with stem cells, no point in any other option and I understand. ;)
