On the last morning of the last day Dontrell Stephens could still walk, the 20-year-old was bicycling across Haverhill Road, talking to a friend on a cellphone.

A truck slowed as he rode against traffic.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy Adams Lin was watching schoolchildren waiting for a bus.

Later, he would say he followed Stephens to give him a traffic ticket for not bicycling properly. But he also would acknowledge he was suspicious of Stephens, whom he had not seen in the neighborhood before that morning, according to court records.

He intended to stop him, ask for identification and find out where he had come from and where he was going. He considered frisking him. But Lin, who is of Asian descent, denied racially profiling Stephens, who is black, and wore his hair in long dreadlocks.

:thumbd: :squint: :wtf:

I noticed that an police officer seem to be alone without a partner and is easily killed or hurt unharmed citizen. There are few or more police officers like him in several incidents.

I believe that Lin who is or was a police officer and part Asian was racial profiling Stephens. Why are Whites so afraid of Black people including Native Americans? We are human beings and our lives matter as we are suppose to be good citizens. This does not make sense. I think that White police officers who either killed or hurt people of different colors (Diverse) might be KKK gang members. **sigh**

*smh* I don't know why the black guy can't think before he does what he did. Dumb move!

Would you do that if a cop confronts you? Oh man, if you do that, you would be like this black guy or possibly dead.

Yes . We need to all act when approached by a cop that we can be murdered on site...
sucks..
And they wonder why people are startin to wake up.
This guy was murdered for nothng...

Aren't you aware that he's still alive and is currently suing the police dept?

And four seconds after Lin got out of his patrol car, he shot Stephens four times, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.
So he was not murdered.

Anyway, police reacts quickly to possible death threats by shooting. In this incident, Officer Lin had to shoot him because Stephens reached for something in the back waistband which the officer saw as a death threat. Stephens made a dumb move. IA found it to be a good shoot as well.

Wow....i wasnt aware....i sww vid...and saw him go down fast and cop stsnding around no movement...
Fine.
He lived...
So this cop shot this dude for nothng...
Damn...
Thanks for heads uo crazypaul....

Whose fault was it? This dude! He SHOULDN'T reach for something that caused the cop to react. Let me ask you, would you reach for something from your pocket when a cop confronts you? No, I think you would be afraid to because the cop could have shot you. All I say is when a cop confronts you, keep your hands clear from anything until it's over (I am sure s/he eventually asks for your ID so you would have to take your wallet out of your pocket but you would be watched carefully).

The guy got back on his bike and the cop kept following b/c he did not like the way he was riding his bike . WTF ! How do think any Black guy is going to act when he has no idea his is going shot at any second . It has been opening hunt season on Black men lately! I am glad my baby was not a boy , I am would be worried to death about him getting shot just for being
Black.

The reason the officer went after him was that Stephens who rode the bike almost caused a car accident.

Lin saw a truck slow to avoid hitting him. That alone warranted a citation, Lin said later. But the deputy also said he was suspicious because he caught a glimpse of Stephens' face — enough to convince him Stephens was a stranger to the neighborhood.Stephens turned down a side street toward his friend's house.
Lin turned in after him. Believing Stephens was running away from him, he "chirped" his siren, turned on his lights and hit the gas.

Well, I saw the short interview by a black gentleman on TV news. He said that most of black men got hurt or killed by cops because they didn't do what cops said. He proved that he didn't get hurt or killed because he did what the cops told him to do. I agree with him 100%. Don't challenge any cop and do what a cop says. That's how he stays alive.

As for corrupt cops, yeah, they are dangerous and armed. A government must get rid of them immediately, otherwise people will make it pay.

Thats not how freedm works.."do as i say or ill kill you"...is what your arguing...thats not policing...thats occupying.there is a big difference...
The idea that cops can kill you because your asking them questiins, or even standing up for your rights, or even god forbid taking out your id is a very dangerous idea...
Hell
My cousine served in afghanistsn and even there they coukdnt just kill u on sight...they have all sorts of ROES, alot of rules....seems the miltary has more rules for killing the enemy then cops do for civilians...unarmed at home..
Thats very telling...

That's sure not true of the military as a hard and fast rule engaged in war and it certainly wasn't true in My Lai, Vietnam in March of 1968. Abuses and corruption can happen anywhere:

I waz speaking of policing and petrolling amongst civilans In afganistan, i was told by. My cousine they just couldnt roll up and start killing people walking around so on...
They have all sortd of ROES...ect..
Anyway
As for hard fast war..the police are not in a war. They are not an occupying force are.they?
I think.thats the question worth exploring...if your a cop and you act and believe yourself to be at war or an occupier this leaves little room in how people, will.react to you....
